We are delighted to announce that our students, Gabrielle Eloise Ilustrisimo Inoceno (Gabby), Man Ki Kuen (Sunny), and Wong Tin Vargas (Owen), have won the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) 2026 competition, jointly organised by Cyberport and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

This is an excellent achievement. The team competed against students from leading Hong Kong universities, including the University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The team received a prize of HK$100,000, which will provide initial funding to develop their project further and explore its commercial potential.

The project was supervised by Dr Jason Liao, Dr Andy Cheng, and Professor Roman Matousek. The result reflects the School’s growing strength in FinTech. It also shows how our work in research and external engagement can provide opportunities for students to develop their ideas and put their knowledge into practice.
