FDS Grant

We are delighted to share the news that Dr KK Li has been awarded a Faculty Development Scheme (FDS) Research Grant under the Research Grants Council Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector 2025/26. The title is “Monetary Incentives and Creativity: An Experimental Investigation” with HK$885,711! This prestigious award recognizes Dr Li’s outstanding research contribution and provides support for advancing impactful scholarly work!

Research Grants

We are pleased to announce that Professor Roman Matousek, is a team member of a newly awarded research grant funded by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (People’s Republic of China). The research project focuses on: “The transformation of new and old driving forces and its improvement path for high-quality and resilient development of the manufacturing industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the uncertainty of foreign trade.”  This important initiative addresses a critical aspect of regional economic development, especially in light of global trade uncertainties, and aims to provide strategic insights into fostering innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector. The research project focuses on: “Research on the Mechanism of Patent Capital in Promoting the Development of New Quality Productivity.” This important initiative addresses a critical aspect of modern economic evolution, focusing on how intellectual property can be leveraged to drive high-quality innovation and foster next-generation productive forces. Conference Papers

We are delighted to share that Professor Roman Matousek’s research paper titled “The Government Bond Market and X-Based Public Optimism: Pre-Rate Hike and Rate Hike Periods”, co-authored with Kairan Chen and Brigitte Granville from Queen Mary University of London, has been accepted for presentation at the 2026 ASSA Annual Meeting, organized by the American Economic Association, to be held in January 2026 in Philadelphia, USA. This prestigious conference is one of the most significant global gatherings in economics, and the acceptance highlights the impact and international recognition of our faculty.
