Recipient of the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Award 2024/25

The Centre of Global Finance and FinTech at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is delighted to celebrate Dr. Andy Cheng (鄭會榮博士), Associate Professor and Programme Director of the BBA (Hons) in Financial Analysis and FinTech / BBA (Hons) in Financial Analysis, for being awarded the prestigious HSUHK Teaching Excellence Award 2024/25.

This annual award, established in the 2014/15 academic year by the Centre for Teaching and Learning, recognises distinguished full-time academic staff who demonstrate outstanding teaching performance, dedication to pedagogical innovation, and significant contributions to student learning and development at HSUHK.

Dr. Cheng’s recognition reflects his exceptional commitment to excellence in fintech and financial education. As a key leader in the evolution of our flagship BBA programmes and the FinTech Literacy Enhancement Project (which laid the foundation for the Centre), he has inspired countless students with practical, industry-aligned teaching in areas such as financial analysis, fintech applications, regulatory technology, and ethical decision-making in finance.

His innovative approach—integrating real-world cases, no-code tools, certifications (e.g., AI Essentials and Cloud Training), and interdisciplinary perspectives—has helped double programme enrollment, broaden access to fintech skills across majors, and prepare graduates for Hong Kong’s dynamic global financial hub.

This award adds to Dr. Cheng’s impressive record of consistent recognition, including multiple prior School of Business Teaching Excellence Awards and contributions to major grants like the ESGS-funded FinTech Literacy project.
