The Department of Economics and Finance at HSUHK successfully hosted the 2nd Inter-University FinTech Innovation Competition on 30 May 2025, themed “FinTech Applications in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).” Students from HSUHK, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Hong Kong Shue Yan University (SYU), and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) innovated solutions for GBA’s financial challenges, including digital payments, cross-border trade finance, wealth management, and regulatory compliance.
Six finalist teams pitched to expert judges, with Group EdUHK X PolyU claiming the Champion award for their “Finder” platform. “Finder” addresses adults’ financial pain points across GBA borders with personalized tools, gamified challenges, and a social matching system based on financial goals.
This event highlights EAF’s dedication to fostering collaboration, creativity, and practical FinTech skills, strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a global financial hub and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
